Winter Ball Hockey (October to March) is played in a gymnasium with a soft orange liquid filled ball. Four players, including the goalie, (Five players, including the goalie for coed) compete against the opposing team's 4 players. Extra players are kept on each bench in opposite corners , and interchanged with the players on the floor either during play or at a stoppage of play. Each game has one qualified referee (Two for playoffs) and one timekeeper. Mandatory equipment includes running shoes & CSA approved hockey gloves. We offer Men's, Women's & Coed divisions.

2024-25 Winter Ball Hockey League - Season will begin on Sunday October 27, 2024

- 14 game regular season plus playoffs. All teams will make playoffs.
- Games are split into two 20 Minute halves running time. The last 2 minutes of the game is stop time if within three goals.
- Season runs from October 27 to late February/Early March.
- All games are played at River Osborne Community Center. 101 Pembina Hwy.
- The cost to enter a team is $1675.00 for Coed and Men's. which includes GST if paid in full by your first game. Individual free agent registration is $165.00. Women's $900.00 (8 Game season)
- Online Roster/Waiver forms must be completed by all players.
- Weekly player statistical updates, standings and live game scores.
- One game official & timekeeper. (Two officials for playoffs)
- Prizes awarded for all division champions & trophy presentation.
Men's
- 3 on 3 plus goalie. ( A, B and C Divisions).
- Mostly One game per week on Sunday afternoon/evenings.
- Max roster per game is 10 including goalie.
- Overall Roster sizes are limited to 18 players excluding goalies.
- Goalies are permited to play in multiple divisions.
- "C" Divison is permitted a max of 1 "A/B" Attacker/player. Teams Can sign two attackers from A/B but can only dress one per game.
Co-Ed
- 4 on 4 plus goalie. One Large Division if uneven amount for split divs.
- 2 Females & 2 Males on Playing surface.
- One game per week on Sunday mornings/afternoons
- Max roster per game is 11 excluding goalie.
- Overall Roster sizes are limited to 20 players including goalies.
Women's
- 3 on 3 plus goalie (One Division)
- 8 Game season starting in late November. $900.00 Per Season.
- One game per week on Sunday mornings/afternoons
- Max roster per game is 10 excluding goalie.
- Overall Roster sizes are limited to 18 players including goalies.
For Coed & Men's There may be a few games on Saturday's if extra days are required. Crossover games may exist depending on final division numbers. Players can only play for one team in each division (Any combined divisions are considered same division)
Registration Information:
- Registration Opens September 4, 2024.
- A $400.00 Deposit is required to enter a team. The remaining fee is due at the first game or can opt with the Payment plan.

- Space is limited so we will only be accepting the first 30 teams to enter. The deadline to register is October 20th or when the maximum amount of teams is reached.

Payment plan is as follows: If you go on the payment plan, the cost will be an additional $50.00 per team for a total of $1725.00

- For teams not opting to go on the payment plan, there will be a $25.00 late fee charged for team's not paid in full by their first game. The remaining amount will be due by game 2. A minimum of $500.00 is required to play your first game. (This does not include your deposit)

Basic Rules: The 2024-25 full rule module will be online by Ooctober 19 , 2024
- Mandatory equipment includes running shoes & CSA approved Hockey gloves or Ball Hockey/Lacrosse Gloves. Please see rule book for mandatory goalie equipment.
- There is a 3 second in the key rule.
- Once a team has played 11 regular season games, their roster is frozen for adding attacking players for the rest of the season. No new player additions are permitted unless in the goaltender position. Goalies may be added up until the last regular season game.
- Only the players listed on your team roster after game 11 in the statistics section of our website are permitted to play from this point on. Any players that are not on the stats roster are considered illegal players. Once a player has participated in one game, they are considered an official rostered player, and cannot be released to gain a roster spot.
- Playoff structure will be listed under the PLAYOFF & QUALIFICATION section.
- Each team must have a matching base sweater colour and unique numbers, and shall have 1 or 2 digit permanent numbers (no duplicates) on the back or front by November 17. Minor penalties will be issued for Jersey infractions up to a maximum of 3 per game. In the event that both teams have the same color Jersey, a coin toss will determine who will switch Jerseys for that particular game. Jersey color infractions will no longer be in effect for either team; if the two same teams shall play again during the season, the team that won the coin toss will then be obligated to switch. In the playoffs, the home team will have the advantage. Sleeves are required at all times & Tape is not permitted on uniforms.
- All players must play in a minimum of 4 regular season games to qualify for playoffs. Goalies require just 1 game at the goaltender position.
- If a team has max amount of players on the game roster for a particular match, only those are eligible to participate for the duration. No Substitutions are allowed if a player gets injured or adding an additional goaltender. If a team only has one goaltender dressed and has the max amount of players & an injury occurs, an attacking must play in the goaltender position for the remainder of the game or play without a goalie.

Co-ed rosters are limited to 23 players including goalies; Each team is permitted a maximum of 11 players dressed/participating per game including goalies. Men’s & Women’s rosters are limited to 21 players including goalies; but a selected maximum of 10 players dressed/participating per game including goalies. If a team reaches the limit, their roster becomes frozen for the remainder of the season. If a player leaves a game for any reason, that player may not be replaced. Once a player has played 1 game for a particular team, that is considered a roster spot.
