Played from late April/early May to late June/early July, Spring league takes place on full-size indoor hockey rinks with a hard orange ball. Each game features 5 players + a goaltender battling against their opponents, with extra players subbing in seamlessly on the fly. Two certified referees and a timekeeper ensure every match is played at the highest standard.

2025 Spring Ball Hockey Information

 

  • Mandatory Equipment: CSA-approved helmet, hockey gloves, and running shoes.
  • Full facial protection is requiredfor under 18.
  • NEW: 3 , 13 Minute Periods.  Last Minutes 3 minutes stop time if within 3 goals. 
  • 5 on 5 Gameplay plus Goaltender.
  • 2 games a week, Monday through Thursday evenings. Masters play on Sunday's.
  • Projected start date is April 28th to Late June. 
  • Games are at the St.Norbert Arena located at 3450 Pembina Hwy, Varsity View Arena at 4230 Ridgewood Ave, and TBA
  • Full Team & Free agent Registration. 
  • 2 Certified Referees and 1 Timekeeper at every game.
  • Canadian Ball Hockey Association rules and regulations.
  • Online Roster/Waiver forms must be completed by all players.
  • Daily statistical updates & Live Scores & league info on our easy to follow website.
  • All teams will qualify for the playoffs.

 

Men's Competitive Division

  • The cost to enter a team in all Men's Division's is $2980.00 which includes GST. 
  • Generally two games per week with most games Monday Through Thursday. 
  • 14 Game regular season. 4 games required to qualify for playoffs. 1 for goalies.
  • Winner and runner up earn the right to represent Manitoba at the National "B" Canadian Ball Hockey Championships in 2026. 
  • On average, teams carry a roster of 15 players and 1 goaltender. 
  • The cost to enter as a Free agent to be placed on a team by league admin is $200.00 which includes GST. 

 

Men's Recreational Division

  • Generally two games per week with most games Monday Through Thursday.
  • 14 Game regular season. 4 games required to qualify for playoffs. 1 for goalies.
  • Winner and runner up earn the right to represent Manitoba at the National "C" Canadian Ball Hockey Championships in 2026. 
  • The cost to enter a team in all Men's Division's is $2980.00 which includes GST. On average, teams carry a roster of 15 players and 1 goaltender. 
  • The cost to enter as a Free agent to be placed on a team by league admin is $200.00 which includes GST. 

 

Men's Casual A/B Division

  • Generally two games per week with most games Monday Through Thursday.
  • 14 Game regular season. 4 games required to qualify for playoffs. 1 for goalies.
  • Playoffs will be split into Casual A & B for the playoffs. 
  • Winner and runner up of the Casual "A" earn the right to represent Manitoba at the National "D" Canadian Ball Hockey Championships in 2026. 
  • The cost to enter a team in all Men's Division's is $2980.00 which includes GST. On average, teams carry a roster of 15 players and 1 goaltender. 
  • The cost to enter as a Free agent to be placed on a team by league admin is $200.00 which includes GST. 

 

Master's Division (AGE 35+)

  • 2 Levels of Divisions. 1 & 2. Divisions may be combined depending on final numbers. 
  • Age 35 & up or born in 1990 or earlier.
  • 8 Game regular season. 3 games required to qualify for playoffs. 1 for goalies.
  • One game per week generally on Sunday evenings. (Possibly a few games on different nights)
  • The cost to enter a team in the Master's Division's is $1675.00 which includes GST.
  • The cost to enter as a Free agent to be placed on a team is $120.00 which includes GST. 

 

Women's Division  

  • 1 large division to be split for Playoffs. 
  • Generally two games per week on Tuesday & Thursday evenings (Possibly a few games on different nights)
  • 14 Game regular season. 4 games required to qualify for playoffs. 1 for goalies.
  • The cost to enter a team in the Women's Division's is $2880.00 which includes GST. On average, teams carry a roster of 14 players and 1 goaltender. 
  • The cost to enter as a Free agent to be placed on a team is $190.00 which includes GST.

 

Coed Division

  • 1 large division to be split for Playoffs. 
  • Generally two games per week on Monday & Wednesday evenings. (Possibly a few games on differnet nights)
  • 14 Game regular season. 4 games required to qualify for playoffs. 1 for goalies.
  • Two females & and 3 male format. Please see basic rules regarding more in depth roster guidelines.
  • The cost to enter a team in the Coed Division's is $2880.00 which includes GST. On average, teams carry a roster of 14 players and 1 goaltender. 
  • The cost to enter as a Free agent to be placed on a team is $190.00 which includes GST.

-Some divisions may combine depending on final numbers per division & players can only then participate on 1 team per combined division and treated as the same division. 

-Game nights may vary depending on final numbers.

-Team may share goalies for regular season only.

 

Roster Guidelines:

Competitive Division - None

Recreational Division - May sign up to 7 players but only dress up to 5 players per game from Competitive division. Goaltenders are excluded.

Casual Division - May sign up to 7 players but only dress up to 5 players per game from Recreation division. Goaltenders are excluded.

Co-ed Division - None

Women’s - None

Masters Division – Age 35 & up (Must be born in 1990 or earlier for the 2025 season)

 

If any divisions are combined due to lack of teams, roster guidelines will change. 

 

 

Registration Information:

  • Registration opens on March 1.
  • A $600.00 Deposit is required to enter a team. The remaining fee is due at the first game or can opt with the Payment plan.

  • For teams not opting to go on the payment plan, there will be a $25.00 late fee charged for team's not paid in full by their first game. The remaining amount will be due by game 2.

If you opt for the payment plan, it is an additioan $150.00. (Masters $75.00)
